Daphne and Apollo
Daphne (nom. sing.) erat nympha silvarum. Pater (father, nom. sing.) Daphnis (gen. sing.) erat Peneus, deus rivi in Thessalia. Arbores (trees, acc. pl), flores (flowers, acc. pl.), et animalia (animals, acc. pl.) Daphne (nom. sing.) amavit. Aliam (another) vitam non laudavit. Apollo (nom. sing.) erat deus solis (sun, gen. sing.). Etiam erat deus lucis (light, gen. sing.), et lucis mentis (light of the mind). Ob hanc causam (For this reason) Graecis ( Greeks, dat. pl. ) carus erat. Apollo erat formosus, et feminae eum (him) amabant.
Olim Apollo (nom. sing.) in silvis ambulavit et nympham pulchram spectavit. Dolo Dei Amoris (Dei Amoris, gen. = of the God of love, Cupid.), Apollo (nom. sing.) Daphnem (acc. sing.) amavit, sed Daphne (nom. sing.) Apollinem (acc. sing.) non amavit. "Puella", clamavit Apollo, "mane!" Daphne (nom. sing.) ab Apollone (abl. sing.) territa est, et currere (to run) incepit (he/she/it began). Etiam Apollo currere incepit (see previous note)
Would somebody also translate this latin into english for me please?
"Daphne was a nymph of the forests. Daphne's father was Peneus, a river god in Thessalia. Daphne loved trees, flowers and animals. She did not praise another life.(= she didn't want to live in a different way) Apollo was the god of the sun. He was also the god of light, and of the light of the mind. For this reason he was dear to the Greeks. Apollo was beautiful and the women loved him.
One day Apollo walked in the woods and saw the beautiful nymph.
In the trap of the god of love (deceived by the..), Apollo loved (fell in love with) Daphne, but Daphne did not love him. "Maiden", shouted Apollo "stay!".
Daphne was afraid of Apollo and started to run. Apollo started to run too."
Reply:You might try a Catholic priest if there is one nearby your area or a pastor from another church. Many are required to translate Latin and/or Hebrew during their studies.

ONce Apollo walked in the woods and saw the beautiful Nymph. (Dolo Dei Amoris) Apollo loved Daphne, but she didn't love him. "Girl," shouted Apollo, "Stay!" Daphne was terrified by Apollo and she began to run. Apollo also began to run.
I don't know what "Dolo" means.
