Is it ok to use shreeded newspaper to make bedding for 3week old pups?

My american bulldog pups were born 3/18/06 We keep them in a large plastic wadding pool lined with blankets to keep them warm.Well they are starting to pee %26amp; poop and the cleanup is well you can imagine. Will the shredded paper harm the pups in anyway?

I'm not an expert, but I believe that I have seen pups inside enclosures at pet stores with shredded newspaper paper bedding.
Reply:yes it is okay. that does help with the cleaning process. i always have used shredded newspaper for any kind of pet like birds,dogs,rabbits but not cats. okay. i hope this helps.

Yes, shredded newspaper is fine and will make things much easier. It may get soggy and stick to the pups, so it will still need to be changed often, but its easier than washing blankets every day.
