Kid who disappears into closet; urban legend or true?

Late 1990's Beyond Belief episode, starring Daphne Ashbrook, as mother of boy who runs into closet in front of many eyewitnesses and disappears, never to be found. Was considered true. What is the whole story behind it? Where did it take place?

Reply:True. My friend's mom's boyfriend's father knew somebody that the very same thing happened to.
Reply:I don't know about the kid in the closet story, but I heard a similar story, I think recorded by Ambrose Bierce. A man was outside his home and began walking out to his field. His wife and a number of other people were on his porch or otherwise nearby. As he was walking, he just took one step and vanished from sight. Everyone thought he had fallen into a hole, so they ran to the spot where he had disappeared, but there was no hole. Strange thing was, they could hear him calling for help, but they couldn't find him. It was like he had walked into another dmension but was still semi-present in this one. His voice was heard for days, still calling for help, but it got weaker and weaker each day, till one day they couldn't hear it anymore. Seems like it could happen.
Reply:maybe he wasn't readly to come out the closet in frount of his family
Reply:Don't know but it sounds like he went through a dimensional portal to me. Just never came back. maybe it's better over there, you never know.:)
Reply:It is a urban legend, there is no actual witness or true fact that it actually occurred. If you research it you will never get to meet anyone that actually new someone it happened to, just more of the "my friends, mothers, brothers sister" or whatever. This is a common trend with all urban legends. However, they still make cool stories.



I read up about urban legends as it is folklore, a large hobby of mine and only ever found 1 legend to be true, which it a sist eing found in a MacDonalds burger, because I actually saw an incident in which that did happen.

Reply:it could maybe somthing took him it could be a demon or god maybe he was impotant to them.
Reply:ya know i think i heard of this too! im not sure about places or anything but i think it was one of those stories that actually happened but nobody could really explain how or why.
