Who actually owns Scooby - Doo...?

I really want to know, is it Shaggy or Daphne?

Who actually owns Scooby - Doo...?
Actually, William Hanna was once asked this question and his answer was "Velma". Surprised?

Freddie was there for the same reason Stephanie Zimbliest hired Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan) to lend "credibility" to the investigative firm.

Would you even today hire a female investigator over a male?

In a "dangerous" situation?

REALLY?

Shaggy was there because who pays close attention to the goof-up?

Goof -ups are able to sneak around and not draw attention.

Look at many plots of the Three Stooges!

Remember, it takes a lot of genius to universally convince others you're incompetent.

If you doubt this, look at Barney Fife from Andy Griffith - Barney was related to Andy (that's how he got hired,if you didn't know).

Do you really think Don Knotts, Carol Burnett, or any other "classic" comedian was successful just based on good scripts and exact timing?

Another example: Red Skelton yes this was YEARS ago, but in every character from Sheriff Dead-Eye, Clem Kiddlehopper, The Loveable Old Tramp - audiences saw that underneath this foolish old sot was a sweet old soul.

They fell in love with that, and for you not old enough to have seen him you have no idea how much you have never learned.

Scooby was of course the mascot

Daphne was not only the perpetual heroine to be "rescued" but gave off a certain charm or overt sexuality, depending how old you were which drew people (mainly men) like moths to a flame.

Now the legal stuff:

Hanna Barbara was "acquired" by Warner Brothers who did all they could (personal opinion) to allow the genius to slowly die and wither away.

Any other questions?
Reply:i think velma
Reply:Shaggy owns Scooby of course. They r pals and they r always together.
Reply:shaggy
Reply:I dont think anyone actually owns Scooby. Scooby is Shaggy's best friend but I dont think that is a traditional dog and master relationship. Scooby is more like one of the gang.
Reply:Shaggy of course
