Champagne at Ascot?
The largest commopnly available format of Champagne bottle is called a Nebuchadnezzar and contains 15 litres (20 regular bottles) of liquid. A larger bottle called a Melchior is very rarely produced and New world producers, over the past century have competed to commission and name yet larger bottles. For info on these, try wikipedia:

The larger formats are named after biblical characters (wise men or kings). Just for reference purposes, I've outlined the bopttle names used in Champagne, Burgundy and Bordeaux for you below for all of the different bottle sizes:
Mini: Champagne - 200ml
Half-Bottle: 375ml
Bottle: 75cl
Magnum: 1.5 litres (2 bottles)
Marie-Jeanne (Bordeaux): 2.25 l (3 btls)
Double Magnum (Bordeaux) = Jeroboam (Champagne): 3 l (4 btls)
Jeroboam (Bordeaux) = Rehoboam (Champagne): 4.5 l (6 btls)
Imperial (Bordeaux) = Methuselah (Champagne): 6 l (8 btls)
Salmanazar (Champagne): 9 l (12 btls)
Balthazar (Champagne): 12 l (16 btls)
Nebuchadnezzar (Champagne): 15 l (20 btls)
Melchior Champagne): 18 l (24 btls)
I hope this helps.
Reply:It has to be a magnum
Reply:Jeroboam ,capacity 4 bottles.---3 litre
Methuselah, capacity 8 bottles--6 litre
Largest is then Balthazar, 16 bottles---12 litre
