do you think they will get made fun of for these names and which is the best out of the three i like unique names but i dont want my children being made fun of then again i dont want to completely compromise what i want to name them

Are these names too unusual?
I really love the boy's names. They have a nice balance between unusual and more common. I don't love the combos with the girl's names, though. If my child is a girl, she'll be Daphne Margaret. My theory is that you should balance an unusual name with a more familiar name. That's why I think Daphne Aamira is a bit much. I think Daphne is lovely (obviously!) but Aamira with it is a bit much. How about Daphne Sky or Daphne Amelia? Gwyneth Lorelei is my favorite combination as they stand now. I really like the name Azalea, but I would avoid using a floral name with another noun name. Azalea Lorelei or Azalea Genevieve would be very pretty.



My favorite individual names are Daphne and Rhys. My favorite combos as they stand are Gwyneth Lorelei and Killian Rhys. I think I like Daphne Amelia and Cillian Rhys the best.
Reply:I love all three of the first names you picked for the girls. I'm not too fond of the spelling of Aamira (I prefer Amira), and I'm not a fan of Lorelei (knew a little girl by that name...that's why!), and Skye is ok. I think my favorite is Azalea Skye. I don't think she would be picked on...and I think Zaylie is adorable for a nickname. :o) I love it!



For a boy, again I like all three first names, but I don't care for the middle name Rhys. I think my favorite for the boys is River Jonas. But if you would consider switching them around, I really like Tristan Jonas! :o) And the only name I can see getting teased a lot is Killian (because of the word "kill" in it).

Reply:For a girl I like Gwyneth Lorelei or Daphne Skye. For a boy I like Tristan Sawyer. I would skip River because it sounds kind of feminine, and Killian because that lends itself to be made fun of, too close to Killer. But I doubt your kids will be made fun of with any of these names, except maybe Killian. They are unique, but not out there. Pick the name you like best, if kids really want to they can make fun of any name.
Reply:I love all of those names!!! They are not unusual they are unique. I think this world needs more of that. I would consider my name Darcie unique. Josh is my husbands name and he always had like three or four other children in his class with his same name as he was growing up. I just feel like it would be hard to feel like an individual when your sharing your name.

As one commenter said previously...I'm not totally sold on the boy's names...but they are still different and altogether have a nice flow to them.

They are harder names to have nicknames for though.

Any name can be twisted in a joke. For example: Lizard-breath (Elizabeth)

so Daphne could get turned into Daffy. But if you really love the name, I wouldn't be too concerned.
Reply:I think they are great names! I am a teacher so when it comes to being kind with your childs name I understand. River could be a little bit of a target for young children, but they seem to find anything to poke fun at. I love Zaylie, that is very creative and easy to pronounce, teachers love that!
