Have you ever not wanted a book to end?

Have you ever been so engrossed in a book and when it ends you feel empty? I have read a few some sequels some not that I have not been able to put down and then unfortunatly they end and I am on an endless hope for a new book to engross myself into. If so, what books have you enjoyed.

Mine are

Harry Potter series

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

The Ugly Duckling by Iris Johansen

Anne Perry Detective Pitt Series

Brenda Joyce Dangerous Series

Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer

Congo by Michael Crichton

Have you ever not wanted a book to end?
If you're talking about not wanting a stand-alone novel to end, I feel it all the time.

If you're talking about not wanting a "series" of books to end, here's my rebuttal:

If the series had already ended, I wish it hadn't.

But when it takes years for a sequel to be released, it's the other way around.

I like the excitement when waiting for a book to be released, but waiting for like decades can sometimes go beyond my patience.

Some of the series I wish HAVEN'T ended:

His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman

Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

The Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud

Maximum Ride series by James Patterson

... and a lot more!

Reply:Absolutely! I loved Congo by Michael Crichton as well and many of his books! My list is long, but I love finding a book that engrosses me! Last summer I donated over a 1,000 books to the Newport Beach, CA library, and many I miss! Basically, I had read and re-read all of them and was moving so I had to part with many of them as I couldn't cart them all around anymore. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done! Love reading! My favorites are historical. 9 years among the Indians was really great. Also a historial account of Marie Antoinette, as well.
Reply:yeahh i do that all the time! i could kick myself because i spend all my time reading the book, not being able to put it down. i want to find out what happens that badly. but then when ive finished it , i wish i was still reading and that i had read less each day :-s

i dont know if that made ANY sense to anyone but me ... but thats my take on the matter anyhow haha
Reply:Ohh I hate that feeling. I felt that feeling, when I came to the last few pages of the Harry Potter Series. I felt empty for soo long. It was like that book, the scenery, and the characters had become a part of me!
